Ejector Marks?

I found a load for my 7PRC. However I noticed these small “swipe marks” on the brass. Not really sure if it qualifies for ejector marks. The primers look good and there is no heavy bolt lift. The load is 68gr H1000 pushing Berger 180s at 2875. Am I too hot?

Honestly I really like the ADM brass though it’s been great…consistent and very durable.

Couple of things. First, what is the max load from established sources for the 180 gr Berger with that powder in the 7PRC and what velocity is advertised? Second, compare to other manufacturers general 180 grain data with that powder and their velocities. You can get a pretty good idea where you sit in terms of answering the question is the load too hot.

What do Factory loads look like with respect to the swipe mark on the case head? They don't have to be the same bullet or same weight bullet. Different brass has different signs, however if you happen to have shot a few different brands of factory loads that could help you as well.

Hornady max load says

64.3gr with 175’s
63.9gr with 180’s.

I’d say you’re about 2gr higher than I would be comfortable shooting. 😳

I can't remember where I got this from but believe it was an early load data for the 7PRC when the clickers where happening and then the newer lower charge data came out. Without looking I believe I'm at 68.0 on H1000 with the 175 ELDX and have no issues whatsoever. Not all rifles are the same so your mileage may vary.7mm PRC HOT data.jpg
