Does anyone have any experience with the Preself tipi. I am looking for a cheaper floorless shelter for a spring bear hu t in Idaho. I would like to use this shelter on future mule deer and antelope hunts. I understand the buy knee cry once but at this time it will likely be a couple years between uses so I want to get something cheap for now as I invest in other equipment that will be used during this time as well. I want the possibility to add a stove and have a half nest as I'm sure bugs will be bad and the stove will be nice fo drying out gear.

I have one for car camping, no complaints at all. Been in 40+ mph winds, rain, snow and down to 10F and it’s held up fine. The large fits 2 cots, stove, wood and gear. Not sure I’d pack it in but works great close to the truck.

rekindling this thread... I'm thinking about grabbing the XL to use as a poor mans wall tent alternative and some family camping. Any more reviews out there yet? Amazon has a pretty short list of reviews.

For anyone eyeing a cheap, large tipi I did get one of these from Amazon. Seems nice for the money (around $200). Weighed just under 11lbs as packed from the MFG. It's very large, very easy to stand up in a large area around the middle (I'm 5'-10). It came with the short titanium stakes. I'll be swapping these out for longer ones that have an actual hook at the top. The guy lines kept coming off of those short stakes. I slept in it once at around 30F, have a stove on the way so excited to try it out in real cold weather.
