Preferred Smart Rangefinder Settings to Minimize Chances at User Mistakes?

A bit of a naive question but playing with a new (to me) Kilo 2400ABS and wanted to confirm settings. I've set my bullet profile up using G7. My menu settings at the moment are i) Line of Sight, ii) Target Mode 'Best', iii) Reticle 'Circle', iv) MIL (to match my scope).

If there is already a post discussing this, please point me that way. Otherwise, I'm curious what the Rokslide way is for configuring their smart range finders. What configuration of settings results in the lowest chances of a user error in ya'all's opinion? For example, is it worth chasing down the Applied Ballistics custom curve to use instead of the G7? Is 'Best' the optimal choice for target mode? etc

Your settings are fine.

Custom curve is better, but how far are you shooting? Inside 500 it doesn’t matter which model you use, g1, g7, custom curve.

Learn where the laser actually hits on the reticle. That’s the biggest error when using a rangefinder, IMO.

I always use the AB curve and its usually money especially with Bergers. It's good because BC changes with velocity. AB curves may not be as good with Hornady pills but I haven't shot them nearly as much at significant distance to have good first hand input.

Agree with @hereinaz - figuring out where the laser actually hits compared to reticle is important as well as understanding when you are likely to be ranging behind/in front of target. At times a guy needs to range the ground at the target location rather than the actual target.

Yes. I always range around the target for reference. The ground is always included if I can see it.

Yes, just use the custom curve, it’s there and it’s better. But inside 500 it is usually minimal difference. But, for the effort of a couple clicks, why not…

It is always nails with Berger bullets for me too. AB and Berger are the easy button for long range.
