My firstborn child. Really though, a great dog and a pretty wild story. Found him on the side of a trail in Peru in 2017 with a badly infected wound on his neck, probably wouldn't have lasted more than a day or two longer. He was so sweet and nice, though, that he is now a card carrying citizen whose diet consists largely of venison trimmings. My guy hit the lottery but so did I

I have a similar problem with my Boykin. I've never resorted to shaving ears but I can definitely see why you do it. If you haven't tried one, the Furminator adjustable dematting tool works pretty good for getting burrs out as well.

And here's some photos in keeping with the theme of the thread. I need to take more photos in the field with her this year. The one recent photo I have of her and a bird was one she caught on the sidewalk.

Ears and burrs....I'm right there with ya. He gets a good trim pre season and that helps a little.
