I believe I have nailed down my weakness on judging deer. I think it's the G2 and the main beam length that I need to work on. Please post some pics of shoulder mounted deer or deer on the hoof where you know these lengths. Maybe put a couple spaces below the picture with the measurements so we can try and judge him and then scroll down and see if we are right. I will post a couple when I get a minute.

I only have one that’s been officially scored. Not on the hoof or shoulder mounted (I like euro mounts more) but this should be clear enough.

Left main: 23 3/8
Right main: 24 1/8

Left G2: 15 5/8
Right G2: 15 7/8
I like the idea! I'll post up 4 different bucks in awhile for some practice!

For the buck pictured, I guessed only the left side of the first picture. My guess was 18" G2, 22" main! So I guess I over estimated by 1" gross!

Nailed the G2's, but missed the MB by 2 to 3 inches. Heck of a buck!!!

This is great practice. I figured out why I missed the MB by a little bit. I didn't even take the time to guess what his insidespread would be, that's why I think I missed it a little, he was wider than I thought.

His inside spread is only 20 3/8. I massively underscored this buck when I got him. I thought high 180’s and boy was I and everyone else wrong on total score.

That is not a bad inside spread. Is he 200+?

Main beams tend to be very tricky to guess within an inch due to the curves.

This picture isn't the best but I've got the numbers on him.
His right side G2 is 21", left 19". MB 26" and 24"

Left
Mb- 20 3/8
G2- 16 2/8

Right
Mb- 19 7/8
G2- 13 6/8

I have another that's quite a bit bigger than both of these but it's not on a shoulder Mount yet so there are no references.

Keep posting them up!

The MB’s got me on this guy. I was thinking 24 inches.

Nailed the g2’s and was close on the MB’s on the first one you posted.
