I had really misjudged this one. I had him broadside at 50 feet and passed him up opening day. I thought he was only 26 inches and was hoping for something bigger. I found him again after 5 days of hunting and decided to take him. He turned out to be 29 5/8 wide and grosses 175 7/8.

Out of curiosity, what is the method you guys use for judging the g2's and mb's?

Yeah you sure did... if there is any point when I even consider passing a buck like that for the tiniest fraction of a second, I'll be doing pretty well in life. Don't happen to have a picture of your granddad's buck, do you? Super cool story!

What's going on man. I was pretty close on him. I I'm using the ear as 8 inches and estimating off of that. It's pretty much from the tip of the ear till down to the canal where the white fur stops. if you connect it all the way to the Head it's about 10 in.
