If you have a minute and know the score of your mounts would you please post.
I would like to use the pics to assist in learning what I'm looking at while trying to field judge a speed goat.
Thanks!!

There's a good thread on here about judging speed goats, check it out lots of great info on there.

Thanks brother! I have read most I can find. Am looking for more real life and actually scored goats. Maybe this the wrong place to ask. Will see.

This one is 67 6/8... so basically the exact P&Y minimum. I had it measured around 5 years after I shot him, I green scored him well over 70" the day I killed him. Horns shrink a good amount. Recommend measuring soon after mandatory drying period if possible.

Gross score 88 0/8" Mass is the key to a good buck. You can have a tall buck but without mass it probably won't make the book. Look for good prongs that start above the ears. The curl or hook can add a deceiving amount of length and ivory tips indicate an older, mature buck.

Agree, that is a great buck. I also agree, if you are looking for a B&C, it has got to have mass. Mass #1, Horn Length #2, and then Prong Length #3. Don't forget how much extra length you get with a good horn curl. Halfslam, I bet that buck has got to be 16+ inches.

Toasty, 16 7/8" and 17". Left prong is 7 4/8" right is 6 7/8" with 7 2/8" bases. He gross scored 89 4/8" and netted 88". His mass did it, everything else was icing on the cake.

My wife has shot 4 that are officially scored, 3 entered into B&C.

New Mexico 80 7/8. Gross , 79 5/8 net
Good mass good prongs and hooks came up short but my best goat to date.

Pronghorn are just SO cool! I have a couple mounted from years ago, and getting crowded, think I will do euro mounts from now on...I have a tag for this year, I'm not even tempted to trophy hunt, might shoot the first one I see!

Good thread. This helps, I am planning a hunt next year. Getting the research and learning in right now. Thanks for the post.
