Possible issues with suppressor

between my wife and I we have 4 suppressors multiple calibers with zero issues. I usually have to adjust my zero compared to shooting with a brake. I have a 30 cal thunder beast ultra 7 that I installed on a good shooting 300 wsm and it would not group. I installed it on my win mag and same thing. Spraying bullets all over. Both of these guns shoot lights out without. Could there be an issue with the suppressor from the factory? I had the same suppressor on my 6.5 and it shoots great. Shooting factory ammo. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Are you using any sort of adapter? You might be running into tolerance stacking issues and getting mild baffle strikes. That’s what it sounds like to me.

Test it with a guide rod (aka alignment rod).

If you aren’t using an adapter, then the issue may be with the suppressor itself.

When I had tolerance stacking issues with a .22 suppressor (due to a faulty 1/2-20 to 1/2-28 adapter), it was shifting the POI by three to four feet at 50-yards and opening groups from .5” to 8”. Getting a new adapter put it right back on target without any issues. All that took was a quick phone call to the place from which I bought the adapter.

Each rifle has a different adapter. Both 30 cal rifles have different thread pitch. Sorry I wasn’t specific I have the same make and model of silencer in 6.5 caliber and that one shoots great.
At 100 yards it is probably about a foot diameter of random hits. I’ll get a couple close and by time I adjust my scope I’m chasing the group a different direction.

I would say you are almost certainly getting baffle strikes due to the adapters not quite working with that suppressor. I’d reach out to TBAC. If you got the adapters from them, they will probably send you new ones for free (as Silencer Central did for me, along with a free t-shirt).

If you're using Tbac, 419, or similar quality adapters, i'd bet odds of muzzle threads being to blame is higher than the adapters. Especially if the rifles are price point like ruger american or similar.
But on two different rifles? I would be more suspect of the adapter.

good point.

Eye balling and trouble shooting for obvious concentricity issues isn't complicated. More specifically - shooting a can shouldn't be the first step to trouble shoot. Look at the thing to see if they are aligned first. Swap adapters and cans as necessary to single out the bad variable. Then reach out to manufacturers based on what is observed.
