The photo above is the only way you can get a full shock when you are dealing with dry ground/leaf litter/vegetation or anything which insulates a bear from touching the earth. A good ground is great but it does nothing if the path (earth) is interrupted. Bring a meter and you will be disappointed by any other approach than the image above.
