Polygiene vs merino inquiry

Archery season starts in 4 weeks, ordered from Beans and will give it a go on some weekend hunts first. May opt to use this with a merino base, we'll see. I think it'll work fine when paired with the Shacket:

I would take polygiene over merino. But after using all three, Aerowool dries the fastest IMO and I am always wet from rain or sweat.

I don't think you can get a better shirt for hot weather or a baselayer on cold days with lots of hiking to do.

I would totally agree, this has been my experience. The aerowool blows me away how quick it dries when sweating/hiking, yet doesn't smell. The polygiene just smelled a lot quicker for me. I think these merino/nylon/poly blends are going to remain at the "front of the line" as a hunting base layer for quite a while.

Ive been experimenting with polygeine over the past couple months and I think I have made the switch. I just like being dry. I know its been covered here before, but shaving your hairy creases really cuts down on stink. also putting on antipersperent on the creases help too. You can add 3-4 days to your poly layers just doing that alone.

Everyone's different, but about 2-3 days after I shave those hairy creases, they either need to be reshaved or I've got to start wearing oven mitts to keep from scratching my skin off.

I'm just having some fun. <g> I ordered some Aerowool from blackorvis to try as well. Maybe use em together, we'll see. Gonna be hot this archery season and I dropped a size so i have an excuse for shopping. LOL

The lightweight Core Hoody arrived today and I gotta tell ya, it is sooooo comfortable, quiet and smooth. I think this is a quantum leap forward for me. Even the facemask and hood feel great (which i didn't expect). So much better to breathe thru than a bandit. Forget about pattern, if you just wanna comfortable shirt for hot weather hunting that'll conceal you and keep the bugs off, look no further. This item is going with me on every hunt! It's nicer than my merino but my opinion on that may change once I wear the Aerowool in the field (as my base layer). Maybe i can spray the outside with permethrin and wear it over the Aerowool shirt. Ticks bug me.

I picked one up the other day. I'm curious how well it does after a few days. It serves dual purpose for me as a sun blocker for the back of my neck with the hood. I've been really impressed how much my kuiu merino doesn't stink, I wore the same shirt for 5 days last year and no issues. I sweat like a whore in church.

I also tee stand hunt in Texas so not having to bring a face masks along with me is nice. I'm planning on getting the ascent pants as well to go with it on an antelope hunt this year. Ultralite and I like that fact I can add knee pads with the built in pockets.

I'm in a similar boat. This year i'm going to be running First Lite Aerowool for my next to skin stuff and then layer on top of that with the Sitka Core series to continue to pull the moisture away from my body. I think this might be the best of both worlds as far as stick, warmth, and drying.

I lost weight so I got the Timberline and Ascent pants as well...then a hat and gloves and damn I'm trendy! LOL

I like it better in all respects. Warmer for the weight, doesn't smell and holds its shape. Further more it holds up better then some of the lessor quality merino. While I have had good luck ibex and smart wool and wool power in so far as being fairly durable I can't say the same for first Lite and minus 33. I also like to layer the mid or heavy weight core series over a light weight merino ..like the lano weight top, this seems to work really well.

Something else to keep in mind is the light weight core is very very light, its breaths excellent but it limited in the warmth department as would be expected for something that thin and light.

The Rokslide10 code should be working just fine. It won't work on optics or certain sale items but should work on anything else. Give us a call so if not and we can get that applied for you.
