Poison Oak Treatment?

I'm rather allergic to it. Tecnu helps if you know you've been exposed.

About 8-9 years ago I got it really bad deer hunting in December. Climbed a tree in the dark and only after daylight did I realize there was a vine on the tree. I'd already taken a leak too. I ended up being covered in it.
Got a dose for methylprednisolone from a physician friend and had one of the other DVMs pop me with it in the arm. Then took prednisone for a few days. That was the worst case I've ever had. Normally would have gone in but I was in such a bad way it couldn't wait.

Just to add my two cents, I react to PO and I used to get it quite a bit at work and generally out in the woods. This past year I worked in an area that was absolutely filled with the stuff and I started taking it more seriously as a result. After I get exposed, I take off all the clothing that could have made contact, being very very careful not to touch my skin as I'm doing it. I shove all that clothing into a bag, then I scrub my hands and arms and any other body parts that could have made contact or where I might have touched with my hands (face/neck) with dawn dish soap using a mesh wash cloth (mesh so there's more friction happening). I do this twice, being as thorough as I can. I also wash my hands after I put on my boots. Doing this consistently I basically did not have another serious outbreak. I think Tecnu is a waste of money, dawn works just fine. I've also used the Dr Bronner's baby soap which works just as well.
