I would like to upgrade my wife's bipod to one of the lightweight options that provides prone and seated options. MDT Mountain, Gunwerks Elevate, and the Tricer RP are on the short list. I've searched through the myriad of threads but I still couldn't draw a conclusion. The MDT is so tempting because of the weight but it may not extend enough for sitting. But, on top of a pack it may be just fine. We always carry tripods, using it for glassing and shooting. Lightweight is nice because she would use it all the time.

I couldn't find much on the finer details regarding the tricer, like the differences in the leg options and how far it extends. And I'm not sure I'm a fan of it being able to pan.

Thx Pete

I like the Spartan pro lite as an easy option that can work on any rifle on which I want it.

The MDT Mountain bipod wont be tall enough to use in the seated position but it works great for shooting prone and its nice and light. If you are already carrying a tripod then you are going to be better off shooting in the seated position using the tripod than a bipod! The Gunwerks/Tricer will both work well if you are shooting in the seated position and then using some kind of rear support (pack, tripod, etc). Its hard to choose between them all when you are trying to save weight. I have ended up carrying the Mountain Bipod and an Aziak Ridgeline and I have been happy with that combo!
