Little update. Pulled two pins so I now have a 3 pin fixed plus slider. Changed the .010" fiber to .019" on the slider, now I see it great. Sighted in the fixed pins at 20, 30, 40 but really like rotating them out of the way and just shoot the slider when there is time.

Quivalizer quiver seems to be too far forward for me. Causes lots of side to side oscillation (yeah, I know it suppose to help this, but doesn't for me) Also just kills me in any wind at all. So I think it will just stay vertical and using a FUSE 7" stabilizer instead.

Pins and slider sighted in all the way out. Slider bottoms at 80 yards.

Practicing every night, too much I think. My worn out shoulders are sore as heck. Confidence to 40 yards is very good. 50 maybe if the stars align. Coyotes and wolves to 80. :)

Also, let tell you that Option Archery, the maker of the Trophy Taker sights, Quivalizer and lots of archery gear are second to none in customer support and service. They have went out of their way to help , send tapes, fiber and instructions to me. GREAT PEOPLE!!! Right here in Montana too.

I always have to remind myself at the range that I need to practice with my fixed pins. A solid 70-80% of the time I practice with just the slider in the sight window. The Quivilizer does make shooting in the wind interesting. Add to it that I've been shooting with a hinge all summer long, so the wind keeps me on edge when I practice in it. If you really pay attention to how you grip your bow (avoiding the white knuckle death grip) there shouldn't be much side oscillation, or it could be with the Quivilizer out front that it just doesn't balance well for you.

I float the bow, almost open hand and down the life line. I sure wish this bow had a wider grip though. This narrow grip could be the problem or part of it. I may modify that. I have large hands.

Thank you. I will look for any of these problems. And look at those grips too.

Update: Thank you all that have helped me out over the duration of this thread. I have my Option Archery Option sight dialed in with 3 fixed pins (20,30,40) and the slider to 80. I shot a little tonight. Took a break to rest my shoulders then right before dark sent two from the 50 yard line. I am pretty darn consistent out to 50. Here are those two at 50 yards right at dark. Black circle is 2"

I am happy with this and grateful. Thank you!

Also want to share this. A friend gave me the idea and I built this target tonight. The nylon sack is 40" x 40". I got it free from a feed store in town. I line both sides with a double piece of 1 1/2" foam board from the lumber yard ($22 a sheet) stuffed the center with plastic bags, empty plastic bottles, foam or whatever. Painted the circles with spray paint using the inside of a roll of masking tape for a paint template. Awesome targets for dialing your bow to way out there.

Hope this helps someone.

I'm not a fan of bag targets, but I do like the looks of that garage.:)

lol, Thanks, yeah just wish the garage was bigger. Too many hobbies. lol. Gotta ask, what do you not like about a bag target? What do you prefer? I thought this was the chit for dialing in a bow.

Thanks

Bag is nice because it's big. What I don't like sometimes is any overhang of the field point or insert makes it tough to pull out arrows. If they are packed and stuffed consistent I do t have too many problems but once in awhile you hit a soft spot and end up digging.

They're sloppy. You have to hang them, they move when you shoot them, the arrows don't go in consistently and even, etc. I use a 4 foot by 4 foot layered foam Block target that I've had for about 10 years. I also have a Blob target for BH's, and a Rinehart Rhinoblock for elk camp. But I prefer the layered foam. They're expensive new, but I got this one from the local range when they got new ones. It's had well over 100k of just my arrows in it though, so a good investment at only $150.

Ok thanks. This one does not move but, we just sit it on the ground. The foam board help them keep shape, but some arrows do go in a bit deeper. Its pretty much a 40" cube. I do have quite a bit of foam in mine, but only 3" in the front and rear on the shooting faces. The rest of the stuffing was from dumpster diving behind the local grocery store. They get shipments often and toss lots of plastic. My total investment , less time, was 30$ for the sheet of foam board.

OK, more help please. Arrow weight and points to broad heads.

How much difference will 5 gr of complete arrow weight make? My practice arrows were 412 to 415 and my hunt arrows are averaging 417 gr.

If my broad heads (100 gr 1 1/8" slick Tricks) weigh the same as my points should I be concerned to 50 yards? I did shoot one 3 times at 40 and 50 and was a little high at 50 but dead on at 40. The little high could have been all me as I would think a heavier arrow ny 3 to 5 gr should land lower.

I understand all errors multiply with distance. Just making sure I am good to go this weekend.

Thanks in advance.

5 grains shouldn't really make a difference, getting farther out if your a very good shot you may be able to tell.though.
