Just ordered a bunch of material from RipStop. My plan is to make 4 quilts for my kids with Apex.

Now, question is Im trying to find snaps similar to what's on my EE Revelation.

Im on the fence on whether I'll sew the foot box or have it snap, but I do want a snap at the top.

Also, I'd like to sew in the flat thumb snaps for webbing that'll run under their sleeping pad.

Anyone have a source for these snaps? They're lightweight plastic and nice and strong, I dont want something that'll easily usnap since kids move so much.

thanks guys!

Any 1" plastic buckle from a sewing supply store will do. That's what I used on mine, and haven't had any issues with them coming undone. As far as the snaps go, I just picked up a snap kit from a local sewing shop. It came with all the snaps and the dies. I just used a piece of 1/2" x 3" gross grain, folded it in half, and attached the snap about 3/4" from the folded edge. You can trim some of the leftovers off, but be sure to leave enough to get it into your seam allowance.

Here is a good source for the buckles PH400 center release buckles. Search around for snaps and dies though. Some will be a lot more expensive than others.

Use the buckles for the quilt straps, and the snaps to keep the foot closed. I did a zippered foot box with a snap at the top end. For the bottom of the quilt, just use a continuous piece of 1" elastic with a buckle on each end. The top strap is the adjustable one and should be sewn together at the ends to go all the way around the pad. Be sure to put the buckles on the front strap before you sew the ends. ;)
