I'd ask if you could get 10% off the Pitboss Pro.

The guy who's deck caught fire probably didn't clean out his grill well enough after a greasy cook. Unless he had some crazy flare up.

Having the meat thermometer built in is nice ($100 markup usually for that feature) but I just bought a $20 digital meat thermometer and it does the same thing.

If you are gonna pay $500 I would look into a Green Mountain, Camp Chef, Rec Tec etc don't bother with Traeger I have heard they are the Yeti of grills, paying way more for same or worse quality.

I went with the Pitboss solely because it was $360 to my door. For the size and features it has I wasn't going to get any better. I broke her in this weekend and cooked a tri tip roast, pretty damn good stuff!

I don’t know, I really like my traeger, personally I’d get another if it dies.

Did a full rack of ribs and two spatchcocked chickens on the 700 today. I love this grill.

I wasn't saying they are bad. Just that you get more for your money going with a different brand.

Traeger makes great grills. Sure they were the first and kind of have that yeti esque feel to them. They also were one of the last to offer some of the upgraded bluetooth, sear and a couple others. Having said that, I would buy another traeger in a heartbeat. I have had mine for 7 years, cook quite a bit and have only replaced the fire rod once. Everything else has been perfect. A few buddies have had Green mountains and have had a lot of problems. Just my experience.

How long does a bag of pellets last? More or less?

From what I have read, you can go through a 20lb hopper doing one long smoke 8-12 hours. I only made it through about 15% grilling for 3 hours the other night. You can find 40lb bags at Menards for $15-18. I also found 2 40lbers at Walmart for $30.

Depends on your temp but, obviously 150 degree smooking the pellets will last longer than 500 degree grilling but for pork butts or ribs- I figure about 8-10# of pellets over 6-8 hours or so. Im not too worried about it as we make pellets.
