My Son, a few friends and I are looking for a recommendation for a guide/outfitter for feral hogs in the south east (4-5 hours from Nashville). Most of our Googling in our area (north central Tennessee) seems to be fenced and non-fair chase hunting for "trophies". Not getting into the trophy conversation but we want to actually hunt and will use the meat, although some kind of "euro-mount" may come into play. ;-) We have also seen some places in the lower part of Alabama as well, but may of the reviews are not recent. Anyone have an actual recommendation based on an experience over the past few years would be very helpful.

We try to hog hunt in lower AL once a year or so and always go to Beatrice Hunters Retreat. Can’t say enough good things about the experience and Larry who runs the place. He’ll treat you like family.

Tons of ground, no fences, great accommodations, and plenty of hogs. Just a touch over 5 hours from Nashville.

I hunted with hogrush a few years ago and had a blast.

If you intend to eat the meat rather than make sausage out of the animal strongly suggest you shoot 50-70 lb pigs, front and hind quarters are fine to eat as are backstraps and tenderloins. Larger are good for sausage.
