Didn't want to hijack the other thread with pics, so why not start a new one? A lot of guys talked about their dads or other family members as the ones who got them started in the field. It would be cool to see some old pics. Post em up.

Here are a few of my dad and I when I was first able to go. Between the ages of 5 and 10 he took me on at least 100 pig kills with our dogs. Before I could really run he would piggy back me as soon as the dogs bayed up, then drop me close to the action and say "don't move, just watch". Our new love is Mule Deer hunting together, and if the day comes where I have to piggy back him to the action, I will do it.

Same group plus my uncle 9 years later, the next time we all made it out together on a trip.

I can't seem to find my old pics right now, my dad and grandpa were both very influential early on. This was shooting at my grandpas house when I was 10. He would always shoot with me.... then later that day go hunting. he would always bring an extra stand and let me sit with him in the woods before I was old enough to hunt

1996. My first sheep hunt. Dad let me pull the trigger on this big Chugach ram.

Exactly 15 years after my dad spotted, lead the stalk, and skinned out my first caribou....I was able to do the exact same thing for him on this nice caribou this year he was able to take this past fall...the old man still shoots better than me:

Will try to find the pic of me from 15 years ago, but not laughing at the 4'11 99 lb weakling in the photo. :D

scan.jpgKilled this buck after my dad pushed him to me! I lost him to a heart attack in 2002 while setting up treestands a week before the hunt. I sure miss him. Cherish the times that you get to spend with your fathers out in Gods great outdoors, because you never know when it will be taken away from you.

My dad has always been there for me. He has been there for my first elk, deer, antelope, and finally last year my first bear and archery kill. Here are a few pics.

The whole family (but me) gutting my moms elk.

Can't find any of the bear at the moment. I truly do love my dad and I hope he decides to get into backcountry so we can spend more time together.

Been hunting whitetails and turkeys with my dad for 20+ years.
