I have one in 7RM and it’s always amazed me how accurate it is for being a semi as well!Browning BAR Mark II Safari 270 Winchester. Bought this gun 20 years ago and it's still ridiculously accurate for a semi-auto. If I could only have one rifle this is the one. (Sorry to mess up the gun porn with my foot.)

Very valid points - I had been wondering about the extra powder building up into the suppressor if the barrel were to be shortened. You're also correct in that the sporter barrel is too thin to thread to 5/8 x 24 and thus would need an ugly shoulder/adapter install.Don’t do it!!
Instead, buy a new rifle for your suppressor.
It’ll probably be less than the gunsmith work anyway, and you wont have to booger up the Medallion in the process.
