On a drive yesterday through the Patagonia region of Argentina we saw several groupings of wild-ranging Guanaco...

Looks a lot like the southern Argentina/Chile area. I was down there in Jan. of 2000 and fished the Rio Grande River on the Chilean side (Tierra del Fuego), and caught some pretty nice browns. The Argentine side is better fishing, but it's all private, on huge estancia's, that charge big $$.

You're right on it TB...and good on you for making it down here in 2020...we pushed this trip for two years!
(Edit: 2000. My bad TB for doing a fast read of your post...and BTW I believe you even though you didn't bring a camera LOL!!)

We spotted numerous groupings of Guanaco on our way to Punta Tombo, Argentina to visit a Magellanic Penguin summer estuary/sanctuary...

Bucket list trip for me for sure. I tell my wife that if we ever move from the States Argentina and Chile are at the top of my list.

I wish I could have taken a better pic but it was a couple miles but you’re looking at a younger white/silver desert bighorn ram.

I spotted this guy a couple days ago, but it would have been waaaaay too tough of a pack-out! 🤣

(sorry guys...my early morning attempt at humor!!)

It's actually a life-size replica of one of the top largest animals that ever roamed the earth...Patagotitan mayorum...erected near the site where the first remains were just recently found in remote Patagonia. Argentina.
