Picking up hitchhikers

I've given a lot of people rides. There really is a spectrum to the kind of people you'll meet. I always try to keep them talking so they don't get any bad ideas.

The weirdest one I picked up; told me his family was influential in WWII, so the government implanted a device into his brain, so that if he was ever poisoned, this device would counteract the poison. He went on to tell me that because of this device he could only eat hot dogs and drink Coca-Cola.

Mighta had a drivers license for a week. I'm headed into town and see a pair of cut offs walking down the road with her thumb out....OOOOHH YEA!!! ..........That tweaker chick was in my pickup before I knew what was up LOL. Wouldnt get out either, had to drop her off at the tavern to get rid of her.

Also found a guy damn near dragging his bow down the side of the hiway, a long ways away from cell service. He was pretty twisted up in where he thought he was. Took a bit of driving to get him back to his pickup.

I do regularly where I live. Most are PCT hikers looking to skip part of the trail or needing a ride to the post office to pick up some of their stuff.

Have had some awesome conversations and met some really cool people.

You win.

The only people statistically weirder than hitchhikers are the people who pick them up. My observations. I've hitchhiked probably 5 times. 1 time was strange, 2 times were beyond strange. Some funny stories.
