I went and check one of my trail cams and retrieved this pic. Obviously I wasn’t there at the time 😂

I call this the 10Yard Stand. The cam is on the same tree my tree stand is on. 10 yards from the trail.

So, if you were to shoot this bull, reply with the same pic with a yellow dot where your arrow will hit.

Remember - 10 yards away

The shadow of my arrow is even there lol. Edited to add from the ground perspective... from a tree a bit higher.

On the ground I think that's a little tougher shot as the front leg is covering a lot of the pocket. From a stand I would "think" you could slip one on top of the front leg angling into the vitals??

Be interesting to see what the experienced elk killers have to say.

I would definitely try to wait till he takes that next step with his left leg. But if I had to take that shot I would say right about there. Should miss the shoulder and still hit the lungs.

I would shoot for Laramie's spot but might wait for that near side front leg to take a step forward.

Laramie's dot if not moving, otherwise may wait for left leg forward. In this PA Game Commission video you can clearly see how the shoulder blade moves when the leg goes forward:

If that bull is walking, even at ten yards, aiming at the red, you probably hitting the yellow.

Is that the point of where your arrow will hit?

At 10 yards and assuming 20 feet up, that's a pretty steep angle. If it's higher than 20' up then the angle is even worse. The top dot is pretty high and represents the steepest angle if the tree stand is super high. The lower dot is what I'm hoping the angle is.

I dont like that leg back so far..

I'll pass, not a shot I like. Let him take 2 more steps, then it's lights out. He's on a trail, no clue you're there, dead elk in 2 steps.
