Photography through binoculars using iPhone 12?

Advice must appreciated on how to take pictures through binoculars using iPhone 12. Is some kind of connector or attachment needed?

There are a lot of phone/binocular adapters. Magview is a high quality one.

If you’re good enough you can free hand it, otherwise get an adapter, plenty of options out there.

If you’re glassing off a tripod it’s easy to do without an adapter. I’ve found it pretty hard to do freehand.

Also found free hand to be difficult, especially for moving targets like animals, I'd invest in an adapter that allows for x y and z adjustments and allows for easily taking out and replacing your phone for when you actually just want to use your binos with your eyes. Celestron makes some decent ones that shouldn't break the bank
I've tried some of the cheaper two axis ones and have abandoned a lot of photo ops because of the difficulty in realigning when I take my phone off

Here's a couple all through a Bushnell engage EDX 8x42 which has pretty good performance for budget optics. Chose different capture techniques to show how the final shot may differ


1. Picture of marsh wren in grass - taken with phone mounted with an adapter
2. A red winged black bird on a pier - freehand shot of a bird on the move so harder to center
3. Picture of a rivers mini waves - assisted freehand, holding binos against a rock to find the shot

I haven't tried too much with video yet, only to get stills of moving targets if I'm not having much luck photo wise

This was from a gosky which I won't recommend much for it's two axis fiddly alignment. I think the Celestron 3 axis or a Magview would increase your chances of getting the right shot
