I've been watching this bachelor group of four urban bucks for a couple years now on my hiking route from my house. Last year two of them were pretty nice so I'm hopeful they keep getting bigger this year.

Looking out our living room window today and our new guests are still hanging around. The mom first nursed the calves and then she browsed as they laid down with full stomachs, and then they all took a nap (the second calf is sleeping just to the left of that photo)...

That last picture with the cow moose and her calf is such a unique context. It's something I never seen before with them laying down. Thanks for sharing.

Agreed. Typically the cow lays there head-up, chewing her cud with one-eye open. This cow started exactly that way, but her head got lower and lower until she just let go and rolled to her side. She was out of gas!
