Maggie and I made a round and put out trail cams this morning. I wonder if Exo would make a dog pack. She could at least carry batteries for me.

REI has some awesome dog packs. I make my dog carry all her own food and supplies when we go camping.

This is Hippodamia converges, right? Was this picture in California? I hear that they "converge" in the Sierras for winter. Then people collect them by the millions and sell them to gardeners to release in their gardens to control aphids.

Sorry to nerd out on you. I actually study ladybugs for a living.

It was in the Sierras , im not sure of the Science of it but there were thousands . They would be on your shirt , hat , legs , face if you walked through them on the trail. Was really cool to see

Very cool. I've only read about it. This is a well-known behavior of them. It's why they are named H. convergens...because they congregate like this for winter. Probably one of the most important species in the country for biological control. Those little guys drastically reduce the need for chemical pesticides. Their pretty awesome.

Whats the difference then in the Asian Ladybeetle everyone complains about in the Midwest. They hibernate in great clumps (like pounds of them) in every crack and crevice and the STINK when crushed or vacuumed up.
