Trees plastered with rime ice. It had been storming most of the previous 3 or 4 weeks, so I'm not sure how many days of buildup this represents.

A little logging I see.

Just a wee bit; not the most opportune camp. We fought bad snow for about 7 miles, climbing ~3000'; we took an off trail "shortcut" and planned to make it down to the next drainage. We came to the realization with an hour of light left, that the snow wouldn't improve and going down a 1000' to the next drainage would simply mean going back up it- soooo.. cooler minds prevailed and we camped near the top of the ridge and retraced our steps out the next day. Licking our wounds on the way back out
