Go in and set up amongst them if you desire one of those spots.
One thing I have realized: The number of considerate and morally acceptable people in this world is dwindling.
I pulled into a parking lot last night after finishing my evening hunt at a different location. One guy had put his tent right in the middle of the parking lot. I pulled over on the far edge to sleep in the back of my suburban. He actually came up while I was eating my mountain house. He was nice and said he just wanted to check if I needed anything, but I imagine me showing up put their panties in a bunch.
I am all for being respectful and giving guys their space, but some of these places to park access enough area that 20 guys could hunt without rubbing elbows. I don’t think the intent was to provide one guy a mega camp. 9 out of 10 times I would have looked for somewhere else but it was dark and I was tired.

Thanks! you triggered a memory. A number of years ago I pulled into one of my few turn arounds at the end of a FS road only to find some knucklehead had pitched a wall tent in the middle of the road successfully blocking any graceful turn with a horse trailer. After a difficult and ugly manipulation of the vehicles, I got it turned around for the return trip.

For reference, there was a flat tent spot with a picnic table next to the creek within 30 ft.

I saddled up and did my normal 18 mile loop and got back to the truck at about 5:30. Still no occupant!

My gelding usually saves things up and after I pull the tack, he dumps a load and drains his bladder before I load him up. Due to the tent in the middle of the road, I felt obligated to tie my gelding such that his butt was at the tent's front door. Sure enough before I got everything loaded in my truck- my gelding did his thing. I certainly hoped the idiot enjoyed living in a stable.

The tent was gone when I returned in 3 days.
