Person arrested on suspicion of igniting Alexander Mountain fire, which burned 50 structures

Jason Alexander Hobby, 49, was arrested Tuesday and faces first-degree arson charges. He is being held in the Larimer County jail on a $250,000 bond. Hobby faces three other felony charges, including aggravated assault with a weapon, impersonating a peace officer and false imprisonment.

The Alexander Mountain fire was one of three Front Range wildfires being investigated as human-caused and ignited in the last week of July. 10,000 acres and 50 structures were burned by the Alexander Mountain fire. The other two were the Stone Canyon fire which burned 1,557 acres and at least five homes in Lyons (Boulder County) and the Quarry Fire which burned 580 acres in Jefferson County.

No word yet on whether Hobby is being investigated for the other two fires.
