Has anyone sprayed the ground around the area of your hanging meat stash to prevent animals from messing with the bags? My wife works for USPS and can get me small cans of dog deterent spray that area small and packable. Very usable for this idea!

I use pinesol, I use it around my
Camp when I’m gone and around the meat pole, ammonia works around the meat pole as well for bear deterrent. In my wall tent I’ll fill
Little cups with pinesol and it lasts longer, also helps with 4 guy smell over a week a little bit.

Bear spray around meat is not good. There are no tricks besides common "scents" that deter bears. Human urine around the meat cache is plenty good enough, and you ain't gotta buy it or pack it in or out of the field.

E fence.

Cayenne pepper would be better than spray, but non-functional if it gets wet. Large amounts of cayenne on the ground will mess up a tracking dog and cayenne liberally sprinkled in trash will fix dogs getting into it.

Bears may be different than dogs.
