People are Crazy

I’m on the Grand Jury, so can’t legally talk about things that we come across, but that’s just silly.

We have cases that absolutely blow your mind. The ones that are the absolute worst are involving sexual abuse/ rape/ child porn…

Listen all, evil is growing, it’s spreading like a brush fire on a windy day. Sad.

We had one last month that preferred 2-3 year old girls…

Hard days going home normal after hearing those cases.

Having worked in a crime lab, in my experience true events are definitely stranger than fiction.

Here's another. I might have already told this one on another thread.
Working for the same outfit, We were rebuilding a road and moving it off the creek bottom. I was up running a drill rig and cutting right of way. I had been working with this fella from Eastern Oregon. Helluva nice guy, in his early 30's, going through a nasty divorce. We were camping on the job and going home on the weekends. Pre cell phone days.
Get back to work from a weekend off and I don't remember if it was a Tuesday or Wednesday, but the Elmore County sheriff shows up on the job. The guy I was working with calmly goes " I think they are here for me" He walks down to the car, they cuff him and stuff him and drive off with no incident.
I get back into town Friday afternoon and go to the shop to pick up stuff for the next week and ask the owner if he knew anything about what happened.
The guy took his soon to be ex wife mushroom hunting and told everyone she slipped on some rocks. Well, it turned out that he throttled her and then tossed her off the rocks.
It's weird to think about working along side someone like that. I guess you never know what's going on in peoples minds. I would have never thought he would have been capable of something like that.

Had a guy who worked for me deliberately get hit by a car. Found out about this after he was hired, it occurred during previous employment. Wanted to go bear and deer hunting, didn’t have any vacation and didn’t want to go unpaid. Staked out the local McDonalds and figured out one of the little old ladies in tennis shoes got a sundae every Friday around 8. So about a week before he needed the time off waited for her to pull out and walked in front of her car. Said she was “only” doing 10 to 15 mph. Bounced over the hood, off the windshield and down to the ground. Ended up bruised and road rashed. Got about a month off to heal and the lady’s insurance covered his lost wages. Told me the story with a gleam in his eye. I like to hunt, but think that one was a little over the top.

I work in construction, my favorite memory of my career was when we were looking to hire a guy, turned out he was a felon, not a big deal depending on the crime. Anyways guy realizes he’s going you miss his flight at a small regional airport, so he called in a bomb threat to hold up the plane.. on his cell phone.
