There are a bunch of crooks that work for the TSA I would never use a TSA lock on a gun case.

Matched ABUS locks. I only use two on my Pelican 1750, even though it has holes for 4. I keep two extra matching ABUS locks in my carry on. Never had to use them.

I'm not trying to be argumentative here, just trying to understand what we're talking about.

The concern is that a TSA agent is going to reject your locks because they're "TSA-recognized"?

For the sake of conversation let's leave JFK and LaGuardia out of it.

My concern is that TSA keys are easy to come by and I would rather not have my firearm easily accessible to people I don't know.

My secondary concern is that it creates a needless legal risk and I'm not in control of the jurisdiction I end up in. Flight get diverted, airline pulls out dumb policies, etc. An example of dumb policies is when United (a partner of Alaska Airlines) made me leave security in Seattle, pick up my firearm, and recheck it in with Alaska Airlines even though my other bags where checked all the way through.

I don't trust Chicago, Denver, or any west coast jurisdiction to not be needless PITAs.

My question, why needlessly expose ones self when non-TSA locks are easier to get anyway?
