Peax Solace vs Sitka Hyperdown, By Mike Moore

Ahhh— the confusion is "comfort level" is for a women, which is always going to be higher than a "comfort level" (Limit) for a man. The bag is comfort rated 15F for a man and 25F for a woman.

I can assure you that with 20.5 oz of 850+ down fill it's definitely an accurate comfort rating for a man :)

I let Sitka know-thanks.

I think that could possibly be a viable option, but I personally prefer it as an option to supplement the puffy. Possibly using a lighter puffy.

You would definitely have to be careful not to get it wet if used during inclement weather.

That’s true. It doesn’t really save weight. At least not with the 2 options in the OP. I think I’d rather have a puffy and then a lighter quilt.

I see the Solace and the Hyperdown not so much as saving weight, but extending your capabilities in the backcountry. We’ve all experienced glassing sessions where we had to leave sooner than we wanted—the ability to add a super warm “parka” over what your wearing could come in pretty handy.
