Durability was the big issue for me. The bands lose their elasticity fast, at least on the two I have. What is the problem with the band you all speak of? I’ve been using one for a few months and haven’t had any issues. I bought mine on sale after using Costco headlamps for years and I have been happy with mine.
I own 4, they arn't the BEST ever, but they work for what I like, easy on off, 4 seconds to lock, very bright white and red, and rechargable works best for my system. I liked the idea of the Fenix, but I've had issues with two of the, so I tried the Peax, the plastic does break, but I had a member on here 3-d print me some way stronger ones? zero issues once I did that. Ive ran black diamonds for 15 years but I like these more.
Won't be trying anything else for awhile I don't believe.
also the Chinese ones are the same, just not as nice? button and quality isn't AS good, also this is all just my opinion, but i'm not a trendy guy, I do what works for me, not the popular thing.
See the post just above yours. I designed and printed some for Tim at his request a while back. I just printed some for other members. I can print you some for a very small fee, or you can have the file and print it yourself if you have a printer.Who 3-D prints the plastic ?
I’m tired of breaking

Yes please! I break one every few months and each time I reach out to them they make it seem like it's so rare for that part to break hahaI'd be happy to post the .stl file for anyone who also has a 3d printer and wants to make their own bracket.

I have 2 of the peax duo headlamps and I've broken the plastic pieces several times. I talked to a guy at hunt expo about it, and though he did not say openly that they knew it was a problem, his demeener seemed to say it is a common problem. I'm sick of buying and shipping this stupid piece of plastic.Yes please! I break one every few months and each time I reach out to them they make it seem like it's so rare for that part to break haha

Sure I just uploaded it to thingiverse. The last few I've printed I've used PETG and PA-CF. They're really strong.Hi, would i be able to get me stl file from you this is great! Thanks!

please post some pics if you print some and let me know how they work out. That’s amazing thank you so much!
I've yet to hear that any have broken that I've sent out. I have had great luck with Sofirn lights for camping and auto use. They are a bargain when you can find them on sale, which is pretty much always. Send me a message with your shipping info and I'll send you some brackets for the cost of material and shipping.@CAM_D Are the ones youre 3D printing significantly tougher? Ive replaced mine twice now and just decided to order two extras to have on hand just incase. Id be super interested to try one of yours out.
OP as far as the Peax lamp goes, other than the aforementioned plastic mount breaking on me, i've never experienced any issues. It is definitely the brightest headlamp i have used, especially in regard to the red light feature; and it has a pretty damn long battery life.
I will say though that I have noticed after a couple of years that its brightness has fallen off a good amount. It used to be comparable to my Fenix flashlight that I tend to keep with me and its not even close anymore. I have talked to Peax about this directly but have yet to come up with any sort of a solution, I think the battery is just dying off.
I may order a Sofrin just to compare but i think for the money there are some other headlamps from Fenix that i want to give a go.
