Its decent but make sure you wrap it in bubble wrap to ensure you never break anything cause you will get no replacement parts from Peak. Also, watch the leg sections, make sure all 3 are retained in the side of the pack. I carried mine with 2 retained in the side packet and 1 out and lost a leg section... (I did have it locked)

I am currently shopping for a replacement tripod because I refuse to buy another one that cannot be supported by the manufacturer.

I think you'll be better off. If this is the one your talking about https://www.extremestore.us/extreme-tripod/?showHidden=true then it shows it going into my cart? Is it out?

I would inquire with them about the availability of parts for it though, just to be sure you don't run into the same parts issues.
