The LOP on my bastion came to 12.75” which is too short for me. Working on a 3-d printed adapter to use a microcell pad for pretty minimal weight increase and the ability to make any LOP I want. Planning on epoxying it to the stock and using heat set inserts to mount the recoil pad. Printed one isn’t the final setup, had to tweak a couple features for the inserts and some little extra pockets for the epoxy to sit into.

Looks good, interested to see the final product. I'd be down for one, if you end up selling any. My tikka Bastion came in at 13.25" so I use a limbsaver slip on that adds about an inch and works fine. But this would definitely look "cleaner".

Tweaked it a little bit and mocked up a quick recoil pad, but 95a TPU is too stiff with 20% infill so I’m going to mess with that a bit and maybe skip buying a recoil pad if I can do my own. Worked pretty well with the inserts and got it right at 13.5”. Going to do the final with PETG, but it only adds .7oz to the old recoil pad (94.1g total vs 72.7g) and might be able to get it almost neutral with a lower infill on the pad

Very interested in this. My bastion is to short and the fact they made the recoil pad goofy and proprietary makes me want to ask them. Why would you intentionally limit your market?

Keep it going, you definitely have a market here. What pads will it be compatible with?

Could really be any pad that is close to the same length and width as the stock. If they’re close it is easy to blend the profile at stock to match up with the footprint of the pad.

Going to print the next pad with 85A, but works pretty well. Made a small bushing for the screws that will get glued to the pad so no need for the extra piece underneath.

Looking good. I have a Bastion and it needs a little more length. Keep going and dial it in. There are a few of us who are in need of what your making.

Got it pretty much ready I think at this point. The 85a TPU was great for the recoil pad but ordered the microcell one to try as well. Gotta bed the action and mount the scope and then take it to the range next week to see how it feels.

Did you have any trouble removing the old pad? I have a Blacktooth and do not like it. When cold it feels like hard plastic.

It was a bit of a pain to remove, they had it pretty epoxied in there. I ended up taking a flathead screwdriver which I rounded off and worked it along the edge to break it off from the stock. Took a bit since I didn’t want to damage any of the carbon fiber.

Got the design all finished up and epoxied mine in today. LOP is 13.5” on the nose and the fit is so much better.

Total weight added with a cervelatti microcell pad is 1.22oz, about half that with the 3d printed TPU pad.

Here are the final pictures:

Testing it on another users rifle that has a little bit different LOP. Pretty simple to modify the length, but can add add spacers in to accommodate different recoil pad thicknesses. Made a little cap for storage too:

Would you guys mind getting some measurements on your stocks?

I have the pad off on mine, but basically a line between the comb and bottom of the stock at this position:

Mine was right at 12.25”, another users was 12.5”

The other is the distance between the comb and the bottom of the stock at that position. Mine was 126.76mm, wanted to see if they had the same profile cut on each stock or if they could be off a little bit since a slight offset wouldn’t be as noticeable with the stock pad being rubber. If it varies from stock to stock, the only real way to get it to fit 100% would be to have it slightly bigger and sand to fit and paint.
