All, I m interested in the groups opinion or experiences with these bullets.

I love the Nosler Partition. I've been shooting in all my big game rifles for 25 years. I've not had any issues other than a drop off in accuracy in the 600Yd range. I've always thought they should do something about the soft lead tip.

I have some friends that are totally enamored with the Barnes TTSX and the Norma Bondstrike. The numbers published are impressive.

The two rifles I've seen the accuracy drop off are in the 300 Weatherby and the 300 RUM in 180Gr Partition for both.

I'm interested in your thoughts.

I'd like to know thoughts on this as well. Looking to load some 180gr .30-06 for the 2022 season and trying to decide between the TTSX or the Partitions.

If it isn't broke, don't fix it. You are accurate to 600. The TTSX likely won't have the necessary velocity to open at 600 so no net gain.

I am a fan of bonded lead bullets for big game. The all copper bullets do kill just fine but they are not intended to be extreme long range bullets. If you want to buy a bullet that will kill out past 600 but yet still perform up close, take a look at the accubond long rang.

Since you are asking this question on the long range hunting forum, I will assume you are interested in making kills past 600 yards. If that is the case, I dont think either the Nosler Partition or Banes TTSX is a bullet worth considering.

As already pointed out, the Barnes monolithics rely on speed to expand. 600 yards plus is not an appropriate use of this bullet. The Partition has a very poor ballistic coefficient. Yes, you can hit things at longer range, but you give up a lot of both windage and elevation by comparison to another bullet like a Berger hybrid or Hornady ELD.

Also, I dont think a 180gn 30 cal bullet is ideal for what you are asking. A heavier bullet with a higher BC like a 220 grain bullet will give you much better performance at longer ranges. Even better some of the newer 245 or 250 grainers if you have the twist requited to stabilise them
