Parasite - worms in deer meat.

It's not the first time I've found them, but after picking dozens of them out of some shanks I was browning, I finally tossed them. I've only ever found them in deer shanks. How about yourself?

You sure they weren’t cactus spines? Seen that a lot in the shanks of desert dwelling deer.

I'm not sure how to exactly put it into words but they were kind of wove around in a nickle size area just under that membrane outside the meat that's somewhat see through and between the layers of the shank. Not actually in the meat.

I see the Bowsite thread was from 07? I've never seen this in deer or elk in 20+ years in Oregon. That would give me the willie's

I've butched enough deer to forget how many and this is the 3rd time I've knowingly found them. Like I mentioned it's only in the shanks. It's gonna be while before I eat shanks again.
