I bought a new pack this year (Eberlestock Little Big Top). I like the pack size layout etc, but is seems no manufacturer is putting in much along the lines of organization these days, so last night I whipped up an insert panel to attach PALS pouches to to help with that. I made it so I could pull it out if needed, and used materials/scraps I had on hand. The core is 1/16" HDPE, cloth is blaze nylon sackcloth, and webbing is off cuts from orange ratchet strap tie downs. The blaze really brightens up the inside makes it easier to find things in low light.

Very cool! I've been eyeballing "rigid MOLLE panels" for the same problem. I definitely agree that packs seem to be getting stingy on the internal organization.

Thanks, I had thought about the rigid MOLLE panels too, but I'm cheap and had all of this on hand. I seem to remember a similar concept in a catalog 10+ years ago marked to military but it had sewn in pockets instead and was yellow. Wish I could remember who made it.
