I currently run an innorel rt90c as it’s what I have from my thermal days. I don’t night hunt anymore and just day hunt. I am always sitting in cover so the innorel is huge and unwieldy to pack. I’m looking for some recommendations on something a bit more packable and lightweight but still stable. Stability is more important to me than anything so I don’t want it too light. I’ve tried using my glassing setup with is a Siriui traveler and it’s not enough. Will be outfitting with a ball head of sorts to direct mount to my XLR chassis

Not looking to spend RRS money either so keep that in mind.

I am in the same boat as you. I use the two vets QDT for thermal, but way too big for day time calling. Considering going with the two vets voyager🤷🏻‍♂️

Tagging in on this thread also as have been wondering the same thing. I have a small lightweight Sirui carbon fiber tripod I use for my glassing which holds my rifles but seems to unsteady for a long distance. Would like to hear others experience.

I had a coupon at Academy and ended up buying a Bog Adrenaline for like $100. It is aluminum, but fairly light at 3.5 pounds or so. Has a standard yoke for a rifle rest, very sturdy. Carry it in my backpack. Sticks out about 6”, doesn’t rattle, secure it with an bungee. Also carry a tripod stool with it in my pack. Not a fancy carbon rig, but works well and fairly cheap.

Try the Inverted leg Leofoto, light and super stable. Love the MC handle as well.

I pack it and shoot off it long range. It’s significantly lighter than the big tripods, but only a little less stable, not much at all.

I tried a few tripods and I despise carrying them. I walk a lot though and only day hunt, so they don’t really lend to my style.

I swapped to a swagger hunter bipod 42. I really like it’s on the gun so my bag straps can carry my stool. Despite looking goofy, it’s really stable.
