I'm hunting only public land now and have a few spots I will be hiking back in up to 2 miles. I really do not like dragging a deer 300 yrds so I will not be doing it 2 miles. I've been looking at the Eberlestock f1 because of the compact frame and the ability to find some deals around the 150-175 price point. I usually get by with a Tenzing fanny pack, so a big pack isn't really my desire. Should I be looking at other packs that may be better for what I'm looking for?

SJK Rail hauler will do a good job too. Get you some B.O.M.B bags so you can bone out. I have hauled out quit a few this way over the years. Big buck will put you closed to 80-90lbs with cape, antlers and meat. Shoot a small buck and get by under 60 lol.

The Horn Hunter Full Curl frame sounds perfect for your situation. Has plenty of organization and storage for day hunts and super easy to load a heavy meat bag for the haul out.

If you have a 18 inch torso or less the F1 will work i have one and couldn't tell you how much stuff i have packed out with it for longer trips and elk i use my kifaru or exo mtn. but for the price the F1 is hard to beat i bought mine when they first came out for $145 to say i have gotten my moneys worth would be a under statement you could pick up one of there batwings and you would be set also the packs mentioned above would work too
