I have no idea what's happening in that photo

Looks like a black smudge that resembles a wolf tail on an elk (maybe spike).

Thats not a wolf. Clearly a stray dog, probably a German Shepherd.

It's a pack of wolves all around the elk.

Blow up the photo, looks like at least one (1) on right front leg, one left rear and possibly one left front. Hard to see though

Wow, I read it as "pack in" action, expecting a horse train or something.

I see it now ... Wolf pack "in action" ...feel a little silly.

Tough to see though.
