I shot a coyote 3 times with a 160 NP from a 7 mag while deer hunting one time. That hole ain’t that bad.

Interesting. I am in the process of finding a cartridge for predator hunting next year. I am leaning toward 223 or 22-250. I was thinking bullets in the 55 grain range. I like the 22-50 but I think access to 223, even as a reloader, is probably easier.

I’d say it was just enough where that shot landed. If it was a foot or more forward then maybe a bit much . They are tough critters though as I’ve seen one running off with a helicoptering front leg after a 308 hit and never found him.

I guess I just see a nice mount, or fur get wasted. I try to utilize the hides on every thing I shoot. Fur, leather, or cape there’s money to made off them. Or they make nice “ decorations “ around the house, cabin.

How you like that 28 nosler I been debating one

So far really liking it. Harvested 2 bears and a elk so far with it and have had it for 8 months. All under 100 yard shots. 1st bear fell over right there as I blew it out it’s heart. Elk only made it 30 yards, I had a quartering towards shot there and blew out the lungs with no exit wound. Second bear blew out top of heart and some lungs and he only went 5 yards. Deadly accurate to long ranges and fun to shoot. Exspensive ammo though . Taking it deer hunting in Alaska soon and anticipating further shots, but should have a similar result, just less energy.

Also this was a joke thread as I was bear hunting. Will be going back with a 223 for more as 2 others ran to private after I shot. I tan everything I harvest normally for practice but just wanted to get rid of the deer eating varmin as soon as I could.
