Outer layer question and new Sitka Jetstream fit?

I used to hunt a lot as a kid and I am getting back into whitetail hunting as an adult. Trying to get a clothing system set up so I don't freeze like I did in my younger years. I have a couple questions about layering and the Sitka Jetstream.

For long sits will a thin merino base layer + light wool sweater + wool shirt + FL Brooks Down Jacket + Sitka Jetstream be sufficient? Temps can get down to 10F with windchill. Going with heavy bibs for lower body so I'm not worried about that but I want to be able to shed layers as needed for my upper body. Planning on doing some long sits but also want to do some active hunting.

Does the new Jetstream design allow room for a down jacket to loft fully? The arms specifically look very slim.

Gonna say no. Long sits require significant insulation. 5oz of down fill, min, depending on outside temps. I can't do it below freezing without 7-9 oz of down.

Brooks puffy is trimmer, and thinner so could layer "okay" but I would treat the jetstream like a heavy more weatherproof mid layer - puffy over. There's no moving in a down jacket.

Ok so maybe my previous setup except the Sitka Jetstream + Sitka Hyperdown Jacket over top?

That brings up another question I have. Are silent outer layers necessary for rifle hunting deer? Would the puffy as an outer layer be too loud? I like the idea of buying a puffy vs a dedicated whitetail outerlayer like the fanatic jacket because the puffy being packable will be useful if I ever decide to go elk hunting out west.

Admittedly I missed the whitetail part - my perspective is soley from western open/mountain hunting.

I think the answer to your question is largely based on range. Generally, yes, sound matters the closer you are, especially in closed in areas. It isn’t something I worry much about out west. I think you’re good with just about anything being static as long as it’s warm and not loud - that would be where the more specialized whitetail stuff like a fanatic comes in. If you’re moving a lot rifle hunting whitetail, then using a setup like you’re thinking may be more applicable.

As to your example - yes a hyperdown would layer over a jetstream, but that’s in a static/glassing context. I don’t really see puffies as movement pieces unless it is extremely cold out. I prefer synthetic pieces for that use, but use down a lot more due to packability.
