Outdoorsmans and vortex

So I called outdoorsmans about putting a micro pan head on my summit ss-p and they said it "shouldn't be a problem". Needless to say, it ain't working. I was planning on doing the vortex this year and then upgrading to a Slik next year. Can anyone tell me if one of these thread reducers would work?

I used the same thread reducer when attaching my Benro S2 to a Slik Compact.

I had to use that thread adapter going from the Outdoorsman Pan Head to the Slik tripod. If i remember right, all tripods I've had needed that adapter.

I put a outdoorsmans standard panhead on my vortex ssp with a view to upgrading the tripod at a later date. Like you the 3/8 thread that came with it didn't fit so I bought a pack of 1/4 to 3/8 adapters, (thought I was buying one).
