Hey guys, need some advice. Running a set of swaro el 8.5 by 42. Have the outdoorsman panhead for my spotter and have been toying with the idea of getting the stud installed in my binos.
First question. On 8.5 power binos is it worth throwing them on a tripod?
Second has anyone ever done their own stud install from outdoorsman? Being from Canada it is very cost prohibitive to send them down there and have them sent back. They are older like 10 yr plus so It is not like they are new so wouldn't mind tackling the project.
Any info is welcomed. Thanks and keep it together, rob.

The adapter in the ELs need to be pressed in and it isn't something I would try by myself. I'm not even sure that they would sell just the stud for the ELs.

I have the stud installed in my 12x50s and have only one complaint. Unlike the SLCs where the adaptor goes on the front, the outdoors mans adapter goes on the inside between the two hinges. You have to spread the binos to install the adaptor and then reset them for your eyes.

That being said, there isn't a better bino adaptor on the market and yes you would benefit by having you 8s on a tripod.
