I don't know why I find that funny coming from a weight weenie like you. You're the one who convinced me I didn't need full leg zips on my Nunatak puffy pants, haha

I really think the weight savings is pretty minimal on a half zip vs full zip; the convenience of the full zip (and additional venting) is worth the 0.5 to 1.0 ounce penalty IMHO :)

I just got back from a 4 day canoe trip and knew I needed to throw in an insulating layer- not too warm, not too cool. I decided to grab the Ventus.

It was just right warmth wise- wore it around camp in the evenings and mornings and paddling in the mornings (~40-50F). Stored it in a small 2 liter dry bag (with a beanie and gloves). And the icing is it weighs a svelte 8 oz :)

I have a sleeping bag from them, great bag for the money. If it were full zip I would try one, but I am of the same opinion as you, full zip is where it's at, if Sitka would make a full zip heavy weight hoody I would buy 3!

I went ambient jacket over hoody due to the full zip.
