Anybody on here have any experience with this hat?? I'm just wondering how heavy of material it is and if its breathable enough for hot weather?

I just bought one. It is 95 here every day and the hat is hot to wear. I have bought 4 diff boony type hats in last 3 weeks and still looking. The patagonia vented spoon bill is the ugliest and coolest so far. I found a LBT-2090C AOR2 Woodland Ghillie Boonie that was very cool but it has a short bill and the large was a tad small for 7 3/4 head size.

Really nice light material. Got mine for same reason and Im tired of my head sweating like crazy also keeps my neck and ears from getting burned. Im super happy with it. Dont give a crap how it looks if it keeps my neck, head and ears from the sun Im all about it.

Your a sweater vest and a pair of keen sandals away from a bitching thru hike.

You need one of those scarfs Aron wears. The key is to soak it in a elk wallow first, keeps your head cool and knocks your scent down.

I had an OR boonie similar to the helios. It had mesh vents on the side though. Comfortable none-the-less.

When it's that hot I actually prefer a recon-wrap (worn rambo style) unless I'm in full sun. It keeps the sweat out of my eyes/glasses. It doesn't look as cool, but it's really functional for me.

Got a kick out of that thanks tnt.

I love that hat for sure it's a godsend at 11000 feet and no clouds in the sky.

Colombia Omni freeze boonie hat. I wear it for work and hunting. Drops 30 degrees cooler when wet with sweat.
