I spent 10 days in Peru about a decade ago.. Our crap food was the first thing I noticed when I returned.

I lived in peru for a couple years. Every day, I ate more food than any one person should ever eat. I never knew Peruvian food was world-renowned, but when I heard that afterwards it did not surprise me. It was always clean, fresh, and delicious. Somehow, despite my poor eating habits there, I managed to lose a lot of weight and felt amazing. It didn't last long when I got back.
Same thing happened on a smaller scale when we went to Europe last year; food was good, I ate more than I should, but the quality of ingredients and portion sizes was such that I felt great and had even lost some weight again. Come back to the "greatest country in the world" and every meal makes me feel like crap...weird.

It's almost like the food companies are working with big pharma. They make us sick and save money, and pharma sells us medication. Sounds like crazy talk, right? Good thing our government would never do anything that wasn't in our best interest.
Ding, ding, ding, your the winner! It’s a racket for sure and the inbreeds make extreme profits off the populace coming and going. It will be a hard uphill fight for RFK with that amount of power fighting against reform but I’m rooting for him.

We have some really good restaurants here....world class.

I applaud RFK for bringing this to National Attention. There is a woman on Youtube documenting Bread with no mold after months. "Natural Flavors" in processed food is not natural but chemicals.

I make a wicked; Elk Chili, Elk stew, Elk Lasagna....Wild boar carnitas and chili verde...its just a matter of finding the time
I have a package of bins and a pack of tortillas that I found in our fridge for chilling bearings at work dated from 2022....there's no mold and the bin is not rock hard.

Crack a chicken bone in half. Raised yourself vs store bought. The store bought is brittle and has no marrow.
Egg yolk color.
Buy pork, lamb or beef at the county fair 4H auction.
Its crazy the difference.

High fructose corn syrup
Artificial colors
Artificial flavors
Many of additives and preservatives

For starters…
I think they may have been asking for actual ingredients that induce real, documented toxicological effects, not federally-approved food ingredients that some natural, homeopathic vlogger with no formal education in human nutrition or food science has deemed "poison."

Yup, in my 35 year career in agricultural research I participated in dozens of pesticide residue trials. I never saw metabolite breakdown residue levels that caused me concern. A ppb is a very small number. As a consumer I read labels and don’t purchase much in the way of processed foods with many of the additives listed above. It’s pretty easy to avoid those. A consumer can purchase organic if they so choose and haven’t been told to worry about the ‘natural’ pesticides that are used in organic production. I worked in the crop end of science but not in the meat side.

I'd like to think I speak out of a place of knowledge as well. I have a masters and doctorate in livestock nutrition and meat/food science, taught at a major agricultural university, and have studied and used many of these "poisons" in recipe formulation and research and development. So, as a scientist, I go by what the peer-reviewed science says, and not what Organic Mama's YouTube channel espouses.

I dislike eating out because of the lousy tasting food also. I get very annoyed at the continually rising cost of restrauant food. I had to grab a quick lunch yesterday so I bought a foot long Beast sub from Subway (healthiest quick option) with added guacamole, a bag of chips and an ice tea. $18.00 for lunch! I did enjoy it but that's just not sustainable for anyone. I am thankful we cook at home 99% of the time and I prepare my home cooked grass fed/finished beef for work lunch every night.
