I have been wearing Sitka gear for a while and really like the functionality and quality of it. I also just really love the Mossy Oak Original Bottomland camo pattern. Are there any companies who make clothing that is on par with Sitka quality, warmth, and functionality that make their stuff in Original Bottomland? Element Outdoors is the only one that I have found that looks like it may be close. I’m looking specifically for deer/turkey hunting gear. Chene has the waterfowl stuff covered.

Be careful, these companies that are carrying the bottomland are putting way to much UV in this stuff. Now, I'm a wind hunter, but I do pay attention to UV in all my hunting clothing, even my sling.

Try to pick up some of the original, I am still wearing some of mine from the late 80's and early 90's I bought back in the day.

I love all of my Element stuff. Extremely good and on par with Sitka, Kuiu, Firstlite. I have all of the mentioned and have pretty much switched to Element. I’m wearing my Element Peak pants right now. It helps that I work for Mossy Oak Properties so I get discounts but I wouldn’t wear it if they sucked or were not up to the task. I get the same with lots of other brands and chose Element above those.

I have buddies who have switched to Element because of my gear. I have used the adapts and peaks in Hawaii, Idaho, Manitoba, Arkansas, Texas (East, Central and West), SouthDakota (Oct pheasant and Dec Bison).

I don’t think you would be disappointed with Born Primitive either. I just have extensive experience with Element. Been running it for 2 years now.

Happy to answer any questions if you have any on Element gear.

I am familiar with Borm Primitive as I do CrossFit and have some of their workout clothes. We also wear some of their tactical shirts at work. I'll probably scoop some of their stuff up on one of their good sales but I am also looking for warmer stuff as well. Like cold tree stand all day sit type stuff.

Good to hear good stuff about Element. I am leaning toward trying some of their stuff, especially because they make everything in tall sizes like Sitka, Kuiu, FL etc. I also qualify for their Pro Program due to my job so I'm waiting for them to approve mu account.

Where do you find out which companies are using UV?

Unfortunately, you have to buy, take home, get in a dark room with black light, you'll see a bunch light up like a Christmas Tree. Guess who is the worst I've seen, Mossy Oak, Drake, realtree, bassdash, Wrangler (generally only wear Wranglers when working. If it has a large emblem, forget it, you might as well have a Q beam lit up.

Now Atsko does make a UV killer, but that can be hit or miss too.
