My wife and daughter drew with no points, I was actually a little bit bummed because I figured I drew with 2 points, but I was on the river all morning so didn’t check until the afternoon.

Surprisingly, I didn’t draw with 2 points, and that’s the only time I was happy I didn’t draw, since my wife and daughter have tags, I didn’t want a tag, so it worked out and I didn’t waste my points.

I wouldn’t have hunted my tag regardless this year, so it worked out well, looking forward to hanging out in the woods with the girls, should be a fun spring. I will be turkey hunting the opener, and can still scout when they can’t go and just bring my call with me for when I cut lion tracks

Drew S. Blue Mountains for the second time in the last three years. I am hoping to get out and scout as much as possible. Need to go to the range some too! Love Eastern Oregon this time of year.

Gonna pack along my .410 in case I stumble on some turkeys while bear hunting too!

What’s everyone’s thought for timing over east? I’ll get 1 chance to go for about 4-5 days. My gut is telling me to go earlier this year due to the lack of snow.

ODFW thinks it will be good from the start. My guess is that their behavior in mid April will be that of early may due to the weather this year, but I'm relatively new to bear hunting. All in all though, I'm feeling pretty good about it.

i drew SW again 2nd year in a row.last year was my first time hunting spring bear i saw one single bear last spring and unfortunately i couldn't close distance to get a shot in time. never saw him in that unit again and sat it a handful of times in the weeks after. still have a ton to learn and looking forward to getting back out there this year.

funny enough i saw 2 during fall bear season while driving logging roads, and one january 3rd hiking into my deer spot to get some trail cameras. my luck haha
