been looking at what my options would be with 3 guys for long hike in trips. would prefer the stove so I don't know if the sawtooth would be big enough. been looking at all the 6 man tipis and wondering what everyone else would use for this type of hunt. is the sl5 big enough or another conventional tent with a stove jack sewn in good options?
will be mainly used for aug-oct in the mountains of alberta. most years it isn't too humid in aug or early sept. by late sept and oct its freezing at night. bugs are not a huge deal most years . been using conventional light weight tents but think the switch to a tipi or similar large floorless shelter might be the way to go. gets pretty cold sitting around the fire outside at night and would be nice to have more room on rain out days. would also help keep spirits up when u get back to camp soaking wet if u know your clothes will be dry by first light.
